Dear members of WGPC,
I have just informed the candidates in the election for European list
selection, that I have suspended this election.
Yesterday Ann Were informed me of something I had missed, but really should
have seen much earlier. In my opinion as ERRO, this would severely
disadvantage one of the candidates
It was the inclusion in the Members Newsletter of a link to a blog. When I
followed the link, it opened a blog page that was supposedly for one of the
candidates, Pippa Bartolotti. It was obvious the blog did not belong to
Pippa and that it's sole purpose was to dicredit her.
The fact this blog exists, is not enough to disadvantage Pippa in this
election process. It is the fact that a link was made to this blog in the
Members Newsletter, making the wider membership, those who would be casting
their ballots, aware of it's existence and content.
I know some members of WGPC have taken exception to another part of the
newsletter, Letter to the editor. This I will deal with in a statement to
be made either at Conference or the WGPC meeting that follows conference
tomorrow 11/05/2013.
I will take the opinion of WGPC as to which I should address regarding this
matter.
