Max Evidence 3[48] WGPNewsletter05July'13
Members Newsletter
Members will have
received a Newsletter from Ann Weir, after she and other members of the Council
purported to suspend me. Not only did
they go contrary to natural justice, deciding in my absence when I was not
present to argue my case, but they ignored the GP disciplinary procedures.
Also relevant was that their meeting was not quorate and
that the Newsletter Editor is elected by and answerable to the AGM.
This Newletter informs members about the Wales GP Council
meeting on Saturday, and of the results of the recent election for Wales GP
Euro-list, important function of the Editor that Ann Weir failed to fulfil
despite offering to replace me. MAX

Green Party Standing Orders
Committee

The SOC ruled that the expulsion of Anne of Cardiff
Green Party branch by the GP Regional Council was unconstitutional, as it
failed to give Anne a fair hearing (via an independent tribunal as specified).
The GPRC’s Nigel Rolland issued a statement and a
lot of discussion on both can be found on the website (under National
Party/GPRC)
The expulsion of a second person, Mark France, was
likewise ruled unconstitutional.
Anne’s alleged crime was in tweeting critical
questions to Pippa Bartolotti during the elections last summer for GP leader to
succeed Caroline Lucas. Strangely, the
GP took the tweets so seriously that they did not try to resolve by discussion
whether they were fair comment or not, though this is defined as the first
stage ‘dispute resolution’ to resolve differences by discussion and mutual
agreement. They thought the tweets were defamatory, without enquiring if they
were fair comment.
The
attempt to suspend the Newsletter editor is related to this rumpus, as the
point at issue was simply that of including a link to the spoof blog
<pippabartolloti.info> in the March Newsletter. This information aroused the ire of certain
members, because it gave background to Anne’s questions
